 On December 1, 2010, the Canadian Immigrant Investor Venture Capital Visa Program started operating. The category is only open when Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC), Canada’s immigration department, decides that the country needs foreign investors, and it is closed when those needs have been met. For this type of visa, applicants must have a personal net worth of at least $10 million CND, which must have come from legal business and/or investments.

2. Canada’s Start-Up Visa Program 

Business Visa Canada Immigration Program is for successful business owners and entrepreneurs who want to start a business in Canada, either as sole owners or as part owners. This visa can be applied for by up to five people at the same time. However, each applicant must have at least 10% of the internal voting rights of the business, and the applicants’ combined share of the business must be more than 50%.

3. Canada self-employed person visa program

The Canadian Self-Employed Persons Program is for people who have experience in arts and culture, sports, or running a farm. Applicants must also want and be able to start a business that will at least give them a job. The candidate must have been self-employed for at least two years in arts or sports, and they must have enough money to support their family when they arrive.

Eligibility for a Business Visa In Canada

1. If you want to go to Canada, you must have a good reason and you must prove it to the immigration officer.

2. You must have enough money to take care of yourself and any person who depends on you for the whole time you are there.

3. You must not have a criminal record and must be a good person. A PCC (Police Clearance Certificate) may be needed for this.

4. You must meet the basic health requirements set by the government.

5. You must have a formal invitation from a well-known business in the country where you do business.

6. To get this visa, applicants must have the backing or sponsorship of a certain Canadian venture capital fund, angel investor, or business incubator.

Documentation to apply for a Canadian Business Visa

When applying for a Canadian Business Visa you’ll need to provide listed documents.

  1. Passport with at least 6 months of validity
  2. Visa application form (IMM 5257 Form)
  3. Two passport-size photos
  4. Proof of purpose
  5. Invitation Letter
  6. Proof of funds like bank statements, income tax returns, and other financial documents
  7. Submit a Police Clearance Certificate (PCC) where you have lived for six or more consecutive months
  8. Proof of your travel plans, including flight bookings
  9. Sponsorship documents, if required

Cost For Business Visitor Visa

For a Canadian Business Visa, you have to pay CAD$100, plus an extra CAD$85 if you have to give your biometric information. So, it costs CAD$185 to apply for a Business Visa.

If the investment comes from a Canadian fund designated for venture capital, you must get at least $200,000. If the money comes from a Canadian angel investor group, you must get at least $75,000 from them.

Business Visa Canada duration

As a Temporary Resident Visa, the Canadian Business Visa is only good for 6 months. You should only stay as long as you said you would on your application, even if that is less than 6 months. You could get a visa from the Embassy that is good for 3, 5, or even 10 years, but you can’t stay longer than 6 months at a time.
