Getting a provincial nomination through the Employer Job Offer

Getting a provincial nomination through the OINP Employer Job Offer includes the following steps.

STEP 1: Register an Expression of Interest

This is the step before applying for the OINP. This is the stage where you will register your interest for applying to the OINP Employer Job Offer pathway for provincial nomination.

STEP 2: Get an EOI score

STEP 3: Get an Invitation to Apply in the OINP draws

  2. You must upload a copy of your photograph in your visa or passport while applying to any of the OINP Employer Job Offer pathways. Ensure that the photograph is clear and high quality.

If you are applying for provincial nomination in Ontario, you must include paperwork to demonstrate your legal status in Canada. This includes copies of all previous and present status documents given by the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), or the Canada Border Services Agency. These documents include:

If you have applied to extend or renew your work or study permit, you must submit:

Documents required for Expression of Interest (EOI)

To claim the points earned while registering your Expression of Interest for OINP Employer Job Offer, you must submit the following documents.

  • Job-Offer letter that includes your NOC code. The score for the Broad Occupational Category and TEER levels are awarded from this.
  • Upload the copy of your Work Permit or Study permit inorder to gain points for it.
  • If you have previously worked in Canada, upload the copy of your NOAs issued by Canada Revenue Agency in the last 5 years. T4 slips alone will not be acceptable. You will get points only if your annual income will be equal to or greater than $40000.

Report of language proficiency test, not older than 2 years. IELTS and CELPIP-G are accepted for the English language, while TCF, and TEF are accepted for French.

Documents to support your job-offer

OINP Employer Job Offer requires a valid job offer. To demonstrate that you possess a valid job-offer, you must submit the following documents.

  • A scanned copy of your most recent resume along with your application. It must include your work experience, education, residential address, email, and contact information.
  • A copy of an Employer form that is completed and signed by your employer.
  • If your employer does not require you to submit an LMIA report, you might have to upload documents to demonstrate his recruitment efforts. This includes a copy of your employer’s recruiting ads.

To support and validate your job-offer, you must submit:

  • A copy of your job offer that is signed by your employer and you. This job offer must be less than 6 months old and must be on the official letterhead that includes the address, contact information and website address of the business.
  • The job-letter copy must include
    • Your job-title
    • NOC code
    • Remuneration offered
    • Number of hours per week, and number of working weeks per year.
    • Vacation weeks
    • Location of your job
    • The beginning date of your job
    • The offer-letter must signify that the offer has no end-date and is for indefinite time
    • A confirmation that the terms and conditions of the job-offer will be effective at the time of you acquiring provincial nomination, if you are already employed for that employer in that particular job. If you have never worked with the employer, your job-offer must be effective on the date you get your work permit.
    • If you have been working with the employer in the same position as stated in the job-offer, you will be required to submit the two recent pay slips.
  • A wage agreement if applicable
  • Copy of your license or any other authorization certification is applicable.
  • A positive Labour Market Impact Assessment report that is for the same NOC code of the job-offer.
Documents required to demonstrate your work experience.

To indicate your international or Canadian work experience while applying for the OINP Employer Job Offer stream you must provide the following documents.

  • Scan and upload the copy of reference letters. These reference letters must:
    • Be on the business letterhead and include the business address, phone number and email address. 
    • Specify your job position and employment period
    • The reference letter must also include total annual salary.
  • Copy of your work contract to demonstrate your work experience.
  • Upload the copy of proof of compensation for any work experience. This proof may include:
    • Pay slips and pay cheques, or pay statements for the first and the last months of working.
    • Bank statements displaying the salary deposits for the first and the last month of employment period
    • Income tax papers
    • Confirmation letters from employers confirming your remuneration.
  • If you worked in Canada,or are currently employed in the country, you must upload the copies of CRA T4 statements of Remuneration Paid and Notice of Assessment (NOA) for all the work experience you include in your OINP application. 
  • If you include self employment in your work experience, your document checklist must include:
    • Registration documents of your business and any other documents to support and demonstrate the business ownership
    • Income-tax returns
    • If you were self-employed in Canada, you must upload T4A statements.
    • Reference letters from clients or third parties displaying the services your business provided including the payment details.
    • Invoices
    • Web postings, brochures or any other promotional material that acts as a proof of advertisement for your business.
Documents to demonstrate intentions to settle in Ontario.

  • If you have completed your education from an institution outside Canada, you must provide an ECA or Educational Credential Assessment report.
  • Scan and upload a copy of your academic degree or certification acquired from an eligible Canadian institution.
  • Official transcripts by the Canadian university or college that awarded you the degree or certification.
  • If you have not received your degree yet, you must upload a copy of:
    • Official transcripts
    • Official letter from the Canadian institution confirming that you successfully completed the program requirements, have no outstanding fee, and the date when you will be awarded your educational credential.
