A total of 4,320 invitations have been issued up till now, by the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) in the year 2019. With its latest draw held on May 23, Manitoba has invited 196 new immigration candidates to apply for a provincial nomination for Canadian permanent residence.
- Skilled Worker in Manitoba stream – 119 LLAs.
- Skilled Worker overseas – 60 LLAs.
- International Education stream – 17 LLAs.
The current MPNP allows Manitoba to nominate the qualified and skilled immigration candidates by employers in the province and in turn have access to permanent residence.
Since the MPNP was introduced in 1998, it has helped more than 130,000 newcomers to settle in the province and hence has become the most active and successful provincial nominee programs in Canada.
The provincial government also issued 27 LLAs to Express Entry candidates with a job seeker validation code with the experience in the in-demand occupation list of Manitoba. Currently, the federal Express Entry system has 3 distinct streams for immigration:
- Federal Skilled Worker Class.
- Federal Skilled Trades Class.
- Canadian Experience Class.
The candidates who qualify through the Express Entry pool and obtain a provincial nomination are awarded additional 600 points in their Comprehensive Ranking Score (CRS).
- Skilled Workers in Manitoba: 548.
- Skilled Workers overseas: 506.
The skilled workers in Manitoba stream invites eligible international student graduates and temporary skilled workers, currently working in the province with a valid full time job offer by their Manitoba employer. Whereas, the skilled workers overseas stream invites eligible candidates living outside Canada, with a connection established in the province.
MPNP issued a record breaking 5,207 nominations in the year 2018, with 98% of the LLAs issued to the skilled workers in Manitoba and skilled workers overseas streams.
