In layman’s language, the 2021 version divided the National Occupational Classification codes into TEERs (Training Education, Experience and Responsibility), whereas, earlier the classification was solely based on skills. Secondly, in the 2016 version, the occupations were given NOC codes of 4 digits, whereas, in the 2021 version, the occupations were given a five-digitcode. There were approximately 500 NOC codes for various departments under the 5 categories of Skill Levels 0, A, B, C, and D. After the introduction of the 2021 version, the numbers increased to 516 which further included various classifications to specify even the posts and departments. The determination stated on the scale of TEER Levels 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 This change upgraded a few occupational levels and also gave existence to those that were not earlier under this list. Therefore, many workers who were not eligible earlier can apply now. If a candidate is applying under a NOC code of scale 0, the candidate will be granted an additional 200 CRS score to his/her scorecard.
