The latest Express Entry draw was held on Wednesday, 3rd August, 2022. This was the third regular all program draw since 2020, when the Express Entry draws were partially put on hold due to the devastating impact of COVID-19 pandemic.

An all program draw is one where applicants from all the four Express Entry programs are included and are issued ITAs or Invitation to Apply. The Express Entry system offers Canada Immigration through four pathways:

  • Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP)
  • Canadian Experience Class (CEC)
  • Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP)
  • Provincial Nominee Program. (PNP)

In 2020, the Federal Skilled Worker Program and the Federal Skilled Trades Program were put on hold due to the travel restrictions imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic. The Canadian Experience Class draws continued till 14th September 2021 after which, only Express Entry Provincial Nominee Program draws were conducted.

As the world limped back to normalcy after the pandemic, the Express Entry rounds of Invitations resumed for all the four programs on Wednesday, 6th July, 2022. The draw issued ITAs to 1500 applicants with the CRS cut-off 557.

Since then, Express Entry draws have been held every second Wednesday.

Moreover, with every round of invitation, the CRS score is slowly returning to its normal range. For instance, the CRS score of the previous Express Entry draw held on 20th July, 2022 was 542 points. This score was 15 points lower than the CRS cut-off for the Express Entry draw held on 6th July, 2022. The latest round of invitations has 533 points as it’s CRS cut-off. This is 9 points lower than the previous cut-off. Since the resumption of the all program Express Entry draws, the CRS cut-off has slowly but constantly decreased. Till now, the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score has decreased by 24 points.

The latest Express Entry draw is also the biggest draw since the pandemic, issuing 2000 ITAs to the eligible immigrants.

A constantly decreasing cut-off and a high number of ITAs are promising indicators of a very hopeful future for all Express Entry aspirants.
