Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) announced the very first category-based draw exclusively for transport occupations. The latest Express Entry draw #277 was the third consecutive draw. The details of the round of invitations are as follows:

Type of Draw: Transport Occupations
Applicants who have received an Invitation to Apply (ITA) in the latest Express Entry draw 277 have:
- An active and valid Express Entry profile in the federal pool
- Have a CRS score higher or equal to 435 points in the Comprehensive Ranking System
- Are eligible for either Canadian Experience Class, Federal Skilled Worker Program, or Federal Skilled Trades Program.
- Have a work experience of at least 6 months in the last 3 years
- The work experience must be in one of the ten eligible transport occupations tabulated below.

Category-based selections vs General Draws
While general or all program Express Entry draws issue ITAs to eligible Express Entry profiles irrespective of their occupations, the category-based selections invite applicants from a specific profession. The six professions or fields of category-based Express Entry draws are:
- Healthcare Professionals
- Trade Professionals
- Transport Professionals
- STEM Professionals
- Agriculture and agri-food professionals
- French language proficiency- those with NCLC 7 or higher in French language proficiency test (TEF or TCF)
