What is the Canada Grocery Rebate?
The Canadian Government launched the Budget 2023 for the fiscal year 2023-2024 on 28th May, 2023. The Grocery Rebate, launched on 5 July, Wednesday, was a one-time payment to help with the rising rates of inflation. As the food prices are increasing throughout Canada, it is obvious that the most vulnerable classes of people cannot meet up with them. Hence, the Grocery Rebate could be really useful for them.
The Grocery Rebate payments were set to come by cheque or directly in the bank accounts through the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA). As mentioned before, this rebate is basically to help with the rising grocery prices, but a person is not obliged to only spend it on groceries. They can spend it as they see fit.

Who’s Eligible for the Grocery Rebate?
The Grocery Rebate was basically for the low as well as middle class of Canada. Which means those who belonged to the low income families and modest income families were provided some help to bear the impacts of high inflation. In other words, Canadian families with income of less than $38,000 or less, and individuals with income of $32,000 or below will be eligible for it automatically.
