What is a Denmark Study Visa?

A Denmark Study Visa is a type of residence permit issued by the Danish Agency for International Recruitment and Integration (SIRI) via the Danish Immigration Service. It’s required for non-EU/EEA students enrolling in full-time higher education programs lasting longer than 90 days. The visa allows entry and study, and must be converted into a student residence permit upon arrival.

How to get a Denmark student visa?

Register on the SIRI portal to generate a case ID and pay the fee through the official webshop

Collect all required documents, ensure official translation if applicable, and book an in-person appointment via VFS Global

Step 4: Submit Application & Biometrics

Submit your forms, passport, photos, insurance, bank statements, and biometric data (photo + fingerprints). This must occur in person .

Step 5: Processing by SIRI and Embassy

Applications are typically processed in up to 60 days, with additional time possible for complex cases.

Step 6: Receive Permit & Move to Denmark

Upon approval, collect your student residence permit card in Denmark and register your address. You’re now eligible to study and live legally
