What is a Scotland Study Visa?

Scotland, as part of the United Kingdom, falls under the UK’s student immigration system. International students from non-UK countries must apply for the UK Student Visa (formerly Tier 4) to study in Scottish universities. The visa is issued by the UK Home Office and allows eligible students to pursue higher education, work part-time, and stay back after graduation under the Graduate Route.

To qualify, students must have an offer from a licensed student sponsor, such as the University of Edinburgh, University of Glasgow, or the University of St Andrews.

  • Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) from a UK-licensed university
  • Proof of English proficiency (IELTS UKVI, TOEFL, or equivalent)
