Nova Scotia Occupations in Demand is one of PNP’s streams of Nova Scotia, under which candidates from high-demand occupations receive ITAs.

This stream is specifically designed to incorporate high-demand occupations and invite workers in such occupations only. The list of occupations under the Nova Scotia Occupations in Demand NSNP stream keep changing according to the labour market demands.

Nova Scotia Occupations in Demand: List of Occupations 2024

  • NOC 33102 – Nurse Aides
  • NOC 65200 – Food and beverage servers
  • NOC 65201 – Food counter attendants, kitchen helpers and related support occupations
  • NOC 65310 – Light duty cleaners
  • NOC 73300 – Transport truck drivers
  • NOC 73400 – Heavy equipment operators
  • NOC 75110 – Construction trades helpers and labourers

NSNP Occupations in Demand Eligibility Criteria

  • The candidate requires a full-time permanent job offer from an employer of Nova Scotia. The job offer must be under one of the occupations listed above. 
  • Their age should be between 21 – 55 years
  • In terms of educational qualifications, they need to have a high school diploma at least. 
  • They must have a minimum of 1 year of relevant work experience. 
  • The candidate should prove their language skills. For this, they should have CLB Level 4 or equivalent. 
  • They must have necessary training, skills and/or accreditation for the needed job. 
  • Also, they need to have enough financial resources to fully settle in Nova Scotia.

NSNP Processing Time

NSNP processing time for those applicants who submit a completed, accurate application is about three months. Nova Scotia aims to process immigration applications within three months of the time period or a bit more. 

What after receiving a nomination from NSNP?

After receiving a nomination, the candidate has then about 6 months of time to submit a completed permanent resident application to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). IRCC will then start processing their application.
