A total of 3,900 Invitation to Apply (ITA) were issued in the draw held on October 30. The CRS cut-off score was recorder to be 475. The 11 point rise in the CRS score brings the total number of ITAs to 71,700 issued so far this year. Candidates with a CRS score of 475 or above, with the application placed in the Express Entry pool, were issued invitations to apply for Canadian permanent residency.

Candidates through one of these streams are ranked in the Express Entry pool, where they are awarded a certain score under the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS). Factors such as age, education qualifications, work experience, language proficiency, and adaptability determine the final CRS score.
Draws from the Express Entry pool are typically held in every two weeks. The reason for the rise in the cut-off score in the latest draw was majorly reliant on the 28 days gap between the draws. A longer duration between these draws – usually results in a higher CRS cut-off score.
The total of 71,700 ITAs this year put the Government of Canada at 2,500 below last year’s rate, which created a record 89,800 ITAs. Canada has higher intake goals for the three Federal High Skilled Economic Immigration category for 2019 and 2020, which ensures that by the end of the year, this milestone could still be surpassed.
