Canada Immigration 2023-2025 | Up to 500,000 New Immigrants to Arrive in Canada

Canada Immigration 2023 - Up to 5 Lakh new Immigrants to arrive

Canada’s goal for the year 2021, as outlined in its Immigration Levels Plan, is to increase the number of new immigrants it accepts annually to over 460,000, which would be the greatest level in the country’s entire history.

The aims of immigration policy in Canada are to aid refugees, reunite separated families, and enhance the economy. The federal department of Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) publish a new Immigration Levels Plan on an annual basis; this plan serves as the agency’s primary source of operational direction.

The Immigration Levels Plan is intended to serve as a roadmap for determining the target annual intake of foreign nationals into Canada. The expansion of the Canadian economy, the reunification of families, and the provision of sanctuary to that escaping persecution in other countries are all immigration aims for Canada.

In 2021, Canada welcomed more than 405,000 new immigrants, which set a record for the country’s overall immigration total. This year, the country plans to welcome almost 432,000 new residents. The Canadian government just made public its Immigration Levels Plan for the years 2023-2025.

In the Canada Immigration 2023 plan, Canada hopes to accept 465,000 new immigrants. The planned number of new immigrants will increase to 485,000 in 2024.

In the Canada immigration 2023 plan, it is also anticipated that there would be 500,000 additional immigrants by the year 2025.

The quotas for Express Entry and the PNP

Canada’s immigration objectives between the years 2023 and 2025 are broken down by immigration class, which includes Economic, Family, Refugee, and Humanitarian. Most new permanent residents enter the country through economic class immigration programs such as those found inside the Express Entry system or through Provincial Nomination Programs (PNPs).

Goals for primary applicants, wives, and children of principal applicants using Express Entry will increase as follows:

Canada’s immigration strategy

The labor market in Canada is experiencing a rare situation in which there is a lack of workers but there are also roughly one million open positions. Both aspects are significant motivating forces behind the nation’s rising immigration goals.

The low birth rate in Canada, which is one of the lowest in the world at 1.4 children per woman, is another factor that contributes to labor shortages. Because the natural rise in population is so sluggish (the number of births still surpasses the number of deaths each year), immigration will soon be the only option for Canada’s population and labor force to expand. This is because the number of births still exceeds the number of deaths each year. For Canada to continue to be able to offer critical services like education and healthcare, it is necessary to have a stable tax base, which can only be accomplished with the help of newcomers.

According to the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (IRPA), which is the primary immigration statute in Canada, the federal government has until November 1 of each year to make an announcement regarding the Immigration Levels Plan.

The Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (IRPA) will be amended because of Canada’s recently passed Bill C-19, which will also bring about significant changes to the existing Express Entry system.

What kind of effects will Bill C-19 have on Express Entry?

The proposed amendments to Bill C-19 would make it possible for applicants to be invited to apply based on “groupings” established by the minister of immigration. The minister can choose candidates based on where they stand within their respective groupings thanks to this mechanism. An economic objective that they wish to promote now will be used to guide the formation of the groupings. After that, the minister will publish the economic aim of each cycle in addition to the qualifying requirements on the website of the IRCC.
