The latest Express Entry draw held on June 12, invited new 3,350 immigrating candidates to apply for permanent residency in Canada. As the government has resumed the bi-weekly pace, the cut-off score was decreased to 465 points from the previous score of 470 points.
Canada’s Express Entry currently manages 3 distinct, economic immigration streams for the pool of candidates. They are:
– Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP).
– Federal Skilled Trades Class (FSTC).
– Canadian Experience Class (CEC).
Qualifying candidates for each of the above mentioned programs are issued a unique score in the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) which determines their rank in the Express Entry pool. The score is also majorly based on factors such as age, education, work experience, language proficiency, etc.
The highest ranked candidates are issued Invitation to Apply (ITAs) for a permanent resident status in Canada. The Canadian government conducts regular Express Entry draws and aims to complete the entire process of the permanent residency in six months or less.
The IRCC has so far issued a total of 38,450 ITAs to the Express Entry candidates in 2019, which are 6,250 more than the ITAs issued at the same point in 2018. IRCC focuses on growing the admission rate in the country, where the applicants can expect the upcoming draws to be much bigger in size.
