Candidates in the Express Entry Pool have been waiting for their nomination for a quite long time now. As there was not a single express Entry draw after 2022 due to several reasons. 

So, here we will be discussing Express Entry Draws that did not happen in entire December 2022. What can be the reason behind it? When can we expect the next draw? And so on…

Why did the Express Entry Draw not happen?

The Express Entry draw did not happen due to the following reasons;

  1. The first reason is a technical glitch as reported by CIC is one of the major reasons for the no Express Entry in December 2022.
  2. Secondly, the changes in the NOC Codes, that is considered as the reason behind this technical glitch.
  3. Last but not the least, the advent of bill C-19.

When will the next Express Entry Draw take place?

  • The Express Entry draw usually takes place every alternate Wednesday. 
  • However, for the last  6 Wednesday’s there were no draws through this Canadian immigration pathway. 
  • But still 28th of December, 2022 was expected to be the upcoming draw date for Express Entry this year.
  • But this did not happen.
  • Therefore, this year there will be no more Express Entry Draw.

We can expect the new year to come with the highest number of invitations in its very first draw. However, there is no expected date for that.

Quick Recap to the draws within this year

  • There were a total number of 24 draws in 2022.
  • Providing 46,539 ITAs this year.
  • The CRS scores have been declining with each draw within 2022.
  • The most recent or can be said as the last cut-off of the year 2022 was 491 on November 23, 2022.
  • The highest CRS cut-off of the year was 808 on January 5, 2022, the first draw of 2022.

The 2023 Immigration Level Plan

In 2023, the immigration board of Canada i.e. Immigration Refugee and Citizenship Canada has decided to go with a lesson plan. (465,000) breaks down as follows.

  • Express Entry; 82,880
  • Provincial Nominee Program: 105,500
  • Parents and Grandparents: 28,500

Spouses/Partners and Children: 78,000

Conclusion

So the conclusion stands,

As discussed there were no draws in December. so there is a huge possibility to have the highest number of invitations in 2023’s first draw. And also giving a rise to the hope of getting an invitation to the candidates to fulfill the backlogs for this year (2022). As it did not happen for a long time. It is advisable that the candidates should definitely keep an eye on the official sites and stay updated by checking their profile notifications.
