Targeting Occupations to Reduce Labor Shortages

The reason why British Columbia has been so aggressively keeping on inviting candidates from certain occupations only is because of the labor shortage. The province is facing a critical workforce gap and lesser manpower than it needs. Industries across British Columbia are struggling to keep up with the market demands since there are just not enough workers. Hence, the only way to battle this issue seems to be inviting skilled professionals from other countries.

As mentioned above, the Canadian province is struggling to fulfill the demands of workers, especially in the tech industry, healthcare sector, and childcare industry.

So, once again, tech workers are given much attention and a total of 112 workers who scored either 88 or more than that received invitations. Moreover, 39 candidates belonging to the Childcare industry with a minimum score of 60 were invited. Apart from tech and childcare professionals, 16 healthcare candidates with scores more than 60 also received invitations. And from the Other Priority Occupations (NOC 31130, 32104) less than 5 invitations were sent out to candidates with 60 or more scores.
