Canada Tourist Visa: A Helpful User Guide

A Canada Tourist Visa is the official document granted by the Canadian authority, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada, that lets a person stay in the country for a limited time. Officially, a tourist visa is actually called a Visitor Visa or a Temporary Resident Visa (TRV).

With a Canadian tourist visa, you are allowed to stay in the country for a period of about 6 months or as the border services officers allow you. You may be allowed to stay for half a year in Canada or if your passport expires before that, less than 6 months.

On the other hand, if you land at a port of entry, a border services officer will meet with you and may refer you to go through a secondary screening where they will use a fingerprint verification device to check your identity.
