Do you want to move to Canada? But worry about which language tests are required for Canada Immigration. A language test will undoubtedly be required if you want to immigrate to Canada as a permanent resident. There are many different language tests available, but only a select few of them are accepted for Canadian immigration.
What Test do I take?
Your immigration program will determine the type of test you must take and the results you must obtain. However, no matter which program you apply to, your test results must be fewer than two years old when you submit your application.

For English
CELPIP: Canadian English Language Proficiency Index Program
IELTS: International English Language Testing System
PTE: Pearson English Test
For French
TEF Canada: Test d’évaluation de français
TCF Canada: Test de connaissance du français
CELPIP:
IRCC, which is responsible for immigration, refugees and citizenship created CELPIP. It is designed for International English Proficiency, which include aspects of Canadian accents, American accents, and both British and American varieties of English. In this there are two types of CELPIP tests- the General Test and the General LS Test. You must take the CELPIP-General Test for immigration.
IELTS:
IELTS is a test of English language ability that is offered globally. We typically advise our clients to take the IELTS in order to complete their immigration file, and we also give them IELTS training because there are so many testing locations worldwide. There are two categories of IELTS- General Training or Academic. For immigration purposes you should take the IELTS general training test.
PTE:
The Pearson English Test, sometimes known as the PTE, is a new English exam that Pearson created to satisfy the IRCC’s requirements for language ability for Canadian immigration applicants. The four language proficiency domains of reading, writing, hearing, and speaking will be test on the PTE.
TEF:
An international standard test that evaluates your proficiency in French is known as the Test d’Evaluation de Français (TEF). If you are native French speaker then you must take the TEF. It also includes two categories- TEF or TEFAQ. Normally, we advise taking the TEF.
TCF:
Another placement test for French for non-native speakers of the language is the Test de Connaissance du Français (TCF). The minimum age requirement is sixteen. The 78-item TCF Canada exam includes hearing proficiency and reading comprehension questions.
What more do I require to know?
Each skilled worker immigration program has different requirements for language test results. The Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) is a standardized method that allows the Canadian government to assess your language proficiency. Additionally, the validity period for language test results is two years according to the Canadian government. This means that the time period between passing a test and submitting your application for Canadian immigration cannot exceed two years.
