5 Common Immigration Frauds- Don’t Fall for Them!

  1. Phone Call Scams
  2. Fake Emails
  3. Poor Website Creation
  4. Promising Job or Accommodation
  5. Asking for Payment in Advance

We will discuss these in detail below.

Phone Call Scams

One of the most common frauds that many fall for. As the name suggests, you will receive a phone call and it is even going to sound sincere, and official and you might even believe that you received a call from a verified immigration officer. But that’s not the case.

Actually, this genuine sounding person on the other side of the phone call is no one but a scammer. They disguise themselves as immigration officials on the call, talk in a very professional manner, go around the topic to lure you in, but in the end they will ask you to make some kind of payment.

You see this is your warning alarm. An immigration officer does not ask for any payment over telephone calls. And if you did get a call from them, they are only going to ask you to submit additional information so they can process your immigration applications.

Fake Emails

An immigration candidate or even a usual person may receive an email that promises to process their immigration application if the person pays some amount of money.

The reason why these emails are sent out in bulks is because it may capture a person or two in its trap. For some people, these emails may seem genuine and hence they process with the payment part to successfully immigrate.

However, you must understand that this is not how immigration officers work, and thus, you are just falling into a trap and nothing else.

Poor Website Creation

Fraudsters these days are so ahead of common people because of technology and their dedication to earn more money that they even copy official immigration websites and make a lookalike.

When you encounter a website with poor content and glitching pages, you might want to reconsider them as your immigration consultant.

Promising Job or Accommodation

If your immigration consultant promises you a job or accommodation after arriving in Canada, they might not be as genuine as they seem. If they are promising you a job offer in exchange for money, of course the job offer isn’t real. Even if you do get a paid job offer, once the immigration officers come to know about it they will reject the candidate’s application.

Asking for Payment in Advance

If an immigration consultant asks for payment much in advance in the process of applying for a visa application, they may be fraud.

A genuine immigration consultant is not eager to get their hands on your money, but a scammer sure is. Hence, be aware of such fraudsters and immigrate to Canada safely.
