1. Work Visa

As the name suggests, a Canada work visa is applied by the individuals who intend to work in Canada for a temporary period. To apply for a work visa, you first need to get a work permit. The Canadian work visa is also categorized in two types:

A Canadian study visa is a stamp on the passport of an individual whose study permit application has been approved. There are many benefits of studying in Canada, for instance, after you complete your studies, you can apply for high paying jobs and gain Canadian work experience.

With both Canadian education and work experience, you can even apply for permanent residence and most likely would be able to get it easily. This is because individuals with Canadian work experience and education are preferred. 

3. Temporary Resident Visa (TRV) / Visitor Visa / Tourist Visa / Business Visa

A Temporary Resident Visa (TRV) is the official document put in the passport of the visa holder. As the name suggests, a TRV permits the person to stay in Canada for a limited period of time, generally for 6 months. 

A TRV is also generally known as a Canada visitor visa or a tourist visa. Business visa comes under TRV as well. 

4. Super Visa

A Canada Super Visa is a temporary resident visa which allows parents and grandparents of a Canadian citizen or permanent resident to stay in the country for up to 5 years each time they visit. A super visa remains valid for 10 years. 

5. Working Holiday Visa

A Working Holiday Visa is issued under the International Experience Canada (IEC) program. Actually, under the IEC, there are different categories, one of which is Working Holiday, which lets you to travel as well as work in Canada. 

This category allows you to work in the country for more than one employer, as it issues open work permits. Moreover, you don’t even need a job offer to be eligible for it and can even work in Canadian locations of your choice. 

Canada Permanent Residence Visa Types

The different types of Canadian permanent residence visas available are described below.

1. Canada PR Visa

A Canada PR visa is a stamp you will get on your passport once your permanent residency application is approved. Most of the time, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) will issue a Confirmation of Permanent Residence (COPR) in place of a PR visa. However, if you are living in a country that requires you to show a PR visa, IRCC will issue you one. 

2. Spouse Visa

A Canadian spouse visa is officially applied as a PR visa via the Family Sponsorship program. This immigration program lets Canadian permanent residents and citizens sponsor their spouse/common-law partner/conjugal partner, parents and grandparents, dependent child, adopted child, relatives, etc.

Most commonly, it is called the Parents and Grandparents Program (PGP). While the sponsor fills out the sponsorship application, the sponsee files the Canada PR application. Hence, a spouse visa means you are sponsoring your spouse so they can apply for Canada PR. 

3. Family Visa

Similar to Spouse Visa, a Canada family visa is applied for parents and grandparents by their children or grandchildren who must be a PR or citizen. 

4. Start-up Visa

A Start-up Visa (SUV) program allows aspiring entrepreneurs to build their business in Canada or buy an existing one and handle its day-to-day operations. To be eligible for SUV, the immigrant entrepreneur must first receive required support and investment from any of the designated organizations.
