    A Super Visa allows parents or grandparents to visit their children or grandchildren in Canada and it is valid for 10 years with a maximum stay period of 5 years at a time. 

    As a super visa holder, you must

    Super Visa Requirements for Parents & Grandparents

    To be eligible for a Super Visa of Canada, you must 

    • be outside of Canada while applying for Super Visa 
    • have an Invitation letter 
    • have enough finances 
    • show ties to your home country 
    • have an intent to return to your home country 
    • clear the immigration medical examination 
    • show your purpose for visiting Canada 
    • have a child or grandchild as a host in Canada 
    • have health insurance from either a Canadian company or any other company approved by IRCC
    • print your visa at a visa office outside of Canada 

    Super Visa: Eligibility for Children & Grandchildren

    To be eligible for a Super Visa, your children or grandchildren must fulfill the following criteria; 

    • Must be 18 years of age or above 
    • Must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident in Canada 
    • Meets or exceeds  the minimum necessary income, according to family size 
    • Sign a letter of invitation that says the host will support you financially

    Super Visa Application Process

    To apply for Super Visa, you must 

    • Be outside of Canada
    • Make sure you meet the requirements to apply for a Super Visa 
    • If you find yourself eligible then gather all the required documents. 
    • Get an invitation code and create an account in the IRCC portal 
    • Fill out the application form for Super Visa 
    • Upload required information and documents 
    • Pay the fees using Visa, MasterCard, American Express, JCB, and UnionPay Credit or Prepaid cards.
    • Wait for the application to be processed and answer any extra information requests.

    NOTE: In case, you are not able to apply online, you can apply on paper. 

    To apply on paper, you must 

    • Read the application form carefully because there is no refund policy. 
    • Fill out the form and submit the application. 
    • For applicants below 18 years of age, the application must be signed by a parent or guardian. 
    • Pay the processing and biometric fees. 
    • Pay for medical exam and police clearance certificate. 

    NOTE 1.  Members of one family must send their individual applications in one package to the location where applications would be processed. 

    NOTE 2. If you need to give biometrics, you must apply in person. 

    Super Visa Processing Time

    The processing time for a Super Visa is 60 days. However, you might experience delays if you do not provide biometric information on time.

    Super Visa Canada Fees

    Canada Super Visa fee is CAD 100 per person and the biometric fee is CAD 85 per person. There might be additional charges depending on the individual application.
