The National Occupational Classification: What is It?

The Official Occupational Code is Canada’s national system for classifying employment according to a person’s duties and line of activity. Every employee in the Canadian market is given a four-digit number along with the job description using a recognized and standardized system.

The National Occupational Classification changes every 10 years.

The TEER system, It stands for Training, Education, Experience, and Responsibilities. The TEER system replaces the skill levels in the new 2021 NOC codes. The TEER indicates the minimal educational and professional requirements for employment in the NOC codes that belong to it. The NOC 2021 version 1.0 has 6 TEER levels.

The TEER level is represented by the second digits in each of the most recent 2021 NOC codes. The 5-digit NOC codes for BOC 4 for the field of Occupations in education, law, and social, community and government services are listed in this article.
