Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) devotes certain quota of immigrants for each of the 10 provinces. Every province is required not to accept applications beyond that quota limit.

To select most skilled and deserving candidates out of the lot, British Columbia has been employing a systematic system of selection called British Columbia Skilled Immigration Registration System (SIRS). This point system allots points based on an individual’s personal credentials (Known as Core Human Factors) such as age, educational qualification, work experience, English language proficiency and other wage related factors (known as Economic Factors).

Having proficiency in the above mentioned credentials is the general requirements by the province before accepting applications for nomination. If you manage to have all the laid down requirements met, British Columbia will issue nomination leaving you eligible to claim extra CRS (Comprehensive Ranking Score) of 600 points. The additional score will ultimately increase your chances of selection in the Federal draw called Express Entry Draw.

You can also apply to BC PNP directly as and when their quota opens.
