Connection with Prince Edward Island: Applicants must have completed a minimum two-year program at a publicly supported post-secondary school in PEI to be eligible for the PEI International Graduate stream. 2.3. Critical Workers
The Critical Worker is the leader of a pilot program Prince Edward Island Immigration, and its effects on various sectors and vocations are assessed yearly. This program makes it easier than ever for those in specific occupations to lawfully come to Canada. 3. Prince Edward Island Business Impact
The Work Permit Stream, a special Prince Edward Island immigration route for entrepreneurs, is part of Prince Edward Island’s Business Impact Category.
The work permit stream of the Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program (Prince Edward PNP) or Prince Edward Island Immigration is for those who want to own and run a business on the island. When a business application is accepted, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) issue them a temporary work permit so they can start their operation. If the terms of the Performance Agreement they signed with the government of Prince Edward Island are fulfilled, they can then apply for permanent residence in Canada.
Before sending out an invitation to apply for the Prince Edward Island immigration PNP Work Permit Stream, the Expression of Interest (EOI) system, a points-based system, is used to evaluate potential applicants for the Work Permit Stream.
There is currently just one stream in the PEI Business Impact category ie; PEI Work Permit.
Two Business Impact streams were blocked by PEI as of September 2018. The PEI Partial Ownership Stream and the PEI 100% Ownership Stream have both been discontinued.

- Run the company for a minimum of 12 months straight
- Financial statements with at least $75,000 CAD in acceptable operational costs must be submitted

Application Procedure: The Expression of Interest (EOI) mechanism is used by the PEI Work Permit stream of Prince Edward Island Immigration. Candidates must submit a profile to PEI’s candidate pool if they match the qualifying requirements. The PEI Business Impact Category Ranking System will then be used to compare every contender in the pool against one another. In one of the category’s recurring draws, the top applicants will be requested to submit an application to the stream.
The contender gets 90 days to create and submit a comprehensive application, including a business plan if they are chosen in any of the draws. The $10,000 CAD application fee is for the PEI Business Impact Category streams. In the event that this application is accepted, the applicant will be asked for an interview with the Prince Edward Island immigration office to talk about their background, professional history, educational background, projected business venture, and settlement strategy. The applicant will be required to provide a legal opinion letter from a Canadian attorney confirming that the application complies with the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act once the business plan and application have been accepted (IRPA).
A letter of endorsement for a work permit will be sent to the candidate when the legal analysis letter is obtained. The individual must apply for a temporary work visa from IRCC after getting a letter of support. The applicant will be given a work visa if their application is approved, allowing them to go to Canada and engage in temporary employment there. Within 30 days after arriving in Canada as a temporary foreign worker, applicants must meet with a settlement officer in order to stay in compliance with their performance agreement and be recommended for permanent residency under Prince Edward Island Immigration.
The candidate will get a provincial nomination from PEI once all performance agreement requirements have been satisfied. The applicant has six months to make a federal application for Canadian permanent residency following receipt of a provincial nomination. Participants in this program are required to fill out a paper application for permanent residency and mail it to the designated application center. Applications for permanent residency are processed in 18 months for Prince Edward Island Immigration.
