Streams Under the Alberta Immigration Program (AINP)

The Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (now AAIP) facilitates Immigration to Alberta for:
• Workers
• Entrepreneurs

Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (formerly AINP) streams for Workers.
Alberta Immigration under the AINP (AAIP) offers three streams to immigrant workers.

Stream 1 Alberta Opportunity Stream

AINP under the AOS stream welcomes eligible applicants for immigration to Alberta ,To know more about the eligibility criteria of Alberta Opportunity Stream under AINP (AAIP)

Foreign temporary workers who already have a full-time employment in Alberta

Have a permanent job offer for an eligible occupation by the employer in Alberta.

Stream 2 The Alberta Express Entry Stream under the Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program

If you have an Express Entry profile in the federal express entry pool, the AINP might send you Notification of Interest letter according to the AINP points calculator. The AINP sends the Notification of Interest letter based on following factors

Primary occupation is favourable for Alberta economy

If your primary occupation in the Express Entry profile is a job that contributes and fortifies the Albertan economy. It is even better if the occupation is in the Alberta PNP occupation in-demand list.

Interest in settling in Alberta

You are more likely to get nominated through the Alberta Express Entry Stream if you demonstrate your intention to live in Alberta permanently.

300 CRS score

If your minimum score in the Comprehensive Ranking System is 300.

Eligibility for at least one federal immigration program

You must be qualified for either Canadian Experience Class, Federal Skilled Trades Program, or, Federal Skilled Worker Program.

Additional factors

your chances of being nominated by the AINP through the Alberta Express Entry Stream increase further if:
(a). You have a full-time job offer in Alberta by a legal Albertan employer.
(b). French is your mother tongue
(c). You have a blood relative who is a permanent resident settled in Alberta, or is a Canadian citizen living in Alberta.
(d). You have graduated form a post-secondary institution in Canada.

If you receive the Notification of Interest letter, you must apply within 2 weeks.

Applicants who have a full-time job in a tech-based industry in Alberta and a valid express entry profile can apply for immigration to Alberta through the Accelerated Tech Pathway of the Alberta Express Entry Stream under the AINP.

How to Apply for Alberta Express Entry Stream under the AINP

For general Express Entry applicants

Step 1. Withdrawal of an existing application (if any)

If you aim to apply through the Alberta Express Entry Stream, you must be mindful that there can only be one AINP application in process through all AINP streams. In case you already have an application in process, you must withdraw it before applying to the Alberta Express Entry Stream.

Step 2. Email to the AAIP (Formerly AINP)

 Once you receive the Nomination of Interest letter, email a copy of the letter to the AINP at [email protected] within 2 weeks.

Step 3. Provide your Express Entry Profile Number

 Along with your Express Entry profile number, you are also required to provide an email address for all future correspondence under the AINP.

Step 4. Provide Information about the past AINP applications if Applicable

 One must remember that the eligibility criteria and various streams of the AINP (now AAIP) are subject to change without any prior notification. You must read terms and conditions before applying and must regularly visit https://www.alberta.ca/aaip-updates.aspx for any crucial updates or alteration.

Step 5: Reassess the minimum eligibility

Ensure that you qualify all the eligibility criteria.

Step 6: Fee Payment

Submit all the documents required and finish your Alberta Express Entry application by paying a non-refundable fee of $500. Herewith attached is the list of all documents under the Alberta Express Entry Stream.

Stream 3 Rural Renewal Stream

This is a community driven stream under the Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP or AAIP). It is designed for the applicants who have a permanent job offer by an employer in Alberta in a rural Albertan community. The Rural Renewal Stream under the AINP program includes two major steps:

The process of Community Designation: The Albertan community handpicks the candidates who would add to their workforce and economy and provide an Endorsement of Candidate letter.

Submission of AINP Application: After receiving the Endorsement of Candidate letter, the applicant would then apply for AINP under the Rural Renewal Stream.

Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (or AINP) Stream for Entrepreneurs

AINP or Alberta Immigration Nominee Program offers Alberta Immigration to immigrant entrepreneurs through 4 Pathways.

The Rural Entrepreneur Stream

This is exclusively crafted for those who intend for Alberta Immigration to establish a business or purchase an existing one in the rural Albertan Community, blessed with abundant natural resources and opportunities.

Farm Stream

Specifically customised for the foreign students who have graduated from an approved Albertan post-secondary institution. Eligible students who dream of immigration to Alberta and become businessmen in the province can send their Expression of Interest or EOI through this stream.

Graduate Entrepreneur Stream

Specifically customised for the foreign students who have graduated from an approved Albertan post-secondary institution. Eligible students who dream of immigration to Alberta and become businessmen in the province can send their Expression of Interest or EOI through this stream.

Foreign Graduate Entrepreneur Stream
