Main Job Duties 

Business management consultants under the NOC code 1122 have a handful of duties to perform, which is a given since their job position is a supervisory role. Below, we have provided some of their main job duties:- 

  • The very first thing that they do is analyze the managerial methods used in the organization and then they provide their advice. 
  • They have to hold quality audits as well as develop quality management and assurance standards for ISO registration. ISO is the International Organization for Standardization. 
  • Sometimes, if the need arises, they even supervise the clerical staff and the contracted researchers. 
  • They often conduct research so that they could maintain the efficiency and effectiveness of the managerial policies along with programs. 
  • In the establishment they are working, they may have to plan and implement reorganization of the operations. 
  • They also conduct assessments, along with research, for the purpose of bringing improvements to the organization. After conducting research, they propose improvements to methods, procedures, and systems in various fields such as human resources, communications, operations, security management, and records management. 
  • They also provide support and guidance to businesses on procedures and policies; they ensure internal compliance with requirements; and they also come up with submissions and filings with regulatory bodies.

Employment Requirements 

  • A candidate under this NOC code should have a bachelor’s degree or even a college diploma in the field of business administration. A degree/diploma in commerce or a related field is also fine. 
  • More times than often, a candidate with a graduate degree in business administration is preferred. 
  • Since this is a unit group, a few occupations may also require its candidates to have a certificate of a quality auditor. 
  • A few establishments may choose management consultants who are already certified by a provincial management consulting association. 
  • There are some occupations under this NOC code such as health information management consultant who need to have a certificate by CHIMA. CHIMA is the Canadian Health Information Management Association. 

Average Annual Income

In an average year, a business management consultant may earn more than 78,000 in Canadian dollars. 

If we break down this number, we can see that the average hourly wage of professionals under this NOC code should be around $39.90. Also, you must note that we are not talking about a specific province or territory in this regard, but the whole of Canada. 

Well, that was the average median salary, and now we must mention the higher end of this income scale too. Your hourly income could go up to $62.50 even. 

While on the lower end of the income scale, the average hourly wage is only around $23.08.
