In the Canada PR assessment, an education degree does play a major role. As mentioned above, education qualification is required. If you have a foreign degree or a Canadian degree you will receive a different number of points. The level of education qualification also matters here, if you have a graduate degree you will receive fewer points than a person with a postgraduate and doctorate degree. Even in the PNP, different types of degrees receive different types of points.
Canada PR education assessment
ECA is also known as Education Credentials Assessment. It is one of the parts of the Canada PR assessment. If the person has a foreign degree then he or she needs to go through the ECA to prove that their degree or diploma is equal to the Canadian one. ECA is for immigration purposes only. Applicants need to attach their assessment result to their Express Entry profile.

In Canada PR assessment skills also play a major role. To assess your skill you will be required to submit your education qualification details, job offer, work experience, and foreign work experience. On the basis of these criteria, you will receive the points.
